Alexander Kay is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and Associate Director of the Global TB Program, based in Mbabane, Eswatini where he oversees research and clinical care at the Baylor TB Center of Excellence. His current research focuses on practical solutions for children and their families impacted by TB and HIV in low resource settings. Such work includes service delivery innovations such as community-based delivery of TB prevention services, child TB/HIV epidemiology, development of prevention services for drug-resistant TB exposure, and evaluation of point of care testing services for sexually transmitted infections for adolescents and young adults living with HIV. he also continues to research practical diagnostic testing solutions to improve the diagnosis of child TB. He enjoys teaching and partnering with the National TB Control Program in Eswatini to provide training on child TB care.
